My Story
A Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Approach
My approach is practical, collaborative, and strengths-based. I integrate a range of evidence-based and holistic modalities to support emotional well-being, healing, and meaningful personal change. The work is carefully paced, with attention to safety, resilience, and sustainable growth, all aligned with each person’s values and lived experience.
I aim to provide a culturally responsive space where people feel heard and understood. Therapy focuses on building insight, emotional regulation, and practical tools to support realistic, lasting change.
Values
My work is guided by respect, cultural safety, mana-enhancing practice, and relationship-based work. I believe healing and good practice develop best in environments where people feel heard, respected, and supported.
I am a registered clinical social worker, therapist, supervisor, and social work educator with over 30 years’ experience supporting children, young people, adults, and whānau. My work focuses on trauma therapy, anxiety, grief, family harm, and emotional well-being.
I offer a quiet, steady, trauma-informed space where people can reflect, talk, and make sense of what they are experiencing. Counselling may be brief and focused or longer-term, depending on individual needs and circumstances.
ACC and Victim Support
I am an ACC-registered provider for Sensitive Claims and provide counselling for people affected by sexual harm. I also offer Victim Support–funded counselling for those impacted by crime, family violence, sudden loss, and other traumatic experiences.
This work prioritises safety, stabilisation, emotional regulation, and supporting choice throughout the therapeutic process. Support recognises that the effects of trauma may continue over time, even when they are not always spoken about directly.
Clinical Supervision
Alongside counselling, I provide reflective and clinical supervision for social workers, counsellors, and practitioners working in social services, education, youth settings, and trauma-facing roles. Supervision is grounded in trauma-informed practice, ethical reflection, professional wellbeing, and safe, effective practice.
